Santiago Rodriguez Ospina receives his PhD in Medical Sciences!
Santiago joined the Blair lab in 2018. His dissertation work explored the impact of small heat shock protein, Hsp22, on tau accumulation and toxicity. His work demonstrated that High levels of Hsp22 protect against tau-mediated declines in long-term potentiation, which is a cellular correlate of learning and memory. After graduation, Santiago will be starting his postdoc at Boston University in the Dempsey Lab.
