Dr. Kristine McDermott represented the Xu Laboratory at The Obesity Society’s ObesityWeek 2025 conference, held November 4–7 in Atlanta, GA. Her research abstract received special recognition from the Neuroscience Section, and she was invited to deliver a blitz talk highlighting her work on serotonergic circuits regulating energy balance. Dr. McDermott also presented a poster showcasing new findings from her fellowship research. Beyond her scientific contributions, she served as moderator for a joint Women Inspiring and Elevating Leadership in Diabetes (WIELD) and Neuroscience Section panel, facilitating an engaging discussion with prominent women leaders in the pharmaceutical industry on advancing careers and leadership in science.
