In July 2014, Dr. Shyam Mohapatra was among the six inaugural inductees into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame. He was recognized for pioneering nanotechnology-based diagnostics and treatments for diseases such as cancer, asthma, diabetes and viral infections. The honor highlighted his innovations, the more than $20 million in extramural funding he has attracted, and the spin-off companies launched from his research.
