Chunling Chen, PhD

I earned my bachelor’s degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and then completed my PhD in Toxicology at the University of Iowa, where I studied neuronal mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders. I continued this research as a postdoctoral trainee at the University of Iowa before moving to Florida and joining Dr. Xu’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow in November 2025. My work now focuses on the neural circuits that control complex behaviors essential for survival. I look forward to learning new techniques in Dr. Xu’s lab and developing toward becoming an independent researcher. Outside the lab, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my family and my cats.
