I am an Assistant Professor at the Center for Molecular Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences. I obtained my PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Chinese University of Hong Kong followed by a postdoc training at Baylor College of Medicine. My research focuses on how neurons in the brain govern glucose homeostasis and feeding behavior, aiming to identify novel therapeutic targets for obesity and diabetes. Moreover, I have more than 10 years of experience in the dissection of the neural substrates of nausea and vomiting in the contexts of motion sickness and chemotherapy using unique animal models of shrews and ferrets. My research brings a distinct perspective to understanding how aversive states disrupt normal physiology.
