Akshay Bhavsar

I am an undergraduate research assistant in the lab of Dr. Yuqiang Bai, where I contribute to advancing dry eye disease research through novel tear film imaging techniques. I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida, and my ultimate goal is to pursue a career in Ophthalmology.

Throughout my undergraduate career, I have gained hands-on experience in biomedical laboratory and clinical research environments, with additional clinical exposure through shadowing in ophthalmology, general surgery, and internal medicine. I am currently completing my phlebotomy certification, further strengthening my clinical foundation. I am also an active member of Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, through which I pursue research opportunities and engage in community service supporting health initiatives and underserved populations.
