Alex R. Leake is a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at the University of South Florida, specializing in alcohol and circadian research in the Gulick-Gamsby Lab. His research focuses on molecular and animal behavior studies using mouse models to investigate the long-term effects of adolescent alcohol exposure and circadian disruption on future alcohol abuse risk. Now in his fourth year with the lab, Alex earned his M.S. in Medical Sciences in 2022 through a collaborative project with industry partner Psilera, which focused on medicinal non-hallucinogenic psychoactive substances. He has presented GG lab research at several conferences and actively engages in community outreach to foster interest in neuroscience.
