Brian E. Bunnell, PhD
Brian E. Bunnell, PhD
Dr. Bunnell serves as Director of the iMH Lab and Assistant Professor in the University of South Florida Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, and a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Florida (License Number: PY 10497). He is also Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer for Adhere.ly LLC, a faculty startup that aims to improve therapist and client adherence to evidence-based practice. He received his PhD in 2015 from the University of Central Florida. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology and NIMH F32-funded post-doctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Bunnell's interdisciplinary research integrates implementation science and biomedical informatics to develop and evaluate digital health solutions to improve the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders across the lifespan. His programmatic research follows three core aims: (1) applying advanced analytics to improve measurement and prediction of mental health disorders and related impairment; (2) evaluating the quality, safety, outcomes, and user experiences of telemedicine in routine clinical care; and (3) using iterative, user-centered design approaches to develop and evaluate innovative digital health tools that enhance healthcare quality (eg, telemedicine, eHealth, mHealth, artificial intelligence, virtual reality). His overarching goal is to improve the delivery of high-quality mental healthcare and the ability of patients to access it. His expertise is in intervention development; iterative, user-centered design, development, and evaluation of health technology solutions; clinical trial design and management; and quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research. He has over 90 peer-reviewed publications and has served as PI/Co-I on over 18 federally (eg, NIH, DoD, FEMA/DHS) and local/state funded research projects.

Maureen Jacobs Plaisimond, M.Ed
Maureen is the Clinical Trial Coordinator in the iMH Lab. She earned her M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College and her B.A. in International Studies from American University. Her interests include improving access to quality education and mental health services, with a focus on equitable systems and innovative, community-based approaches to learning and care. In her free time, she enjoys exploring culture through travel, reading, food, and music. She also enjoys swimming, pilates, and spending time with loved ones.

Lisa Heuer, MSW, MBA, RCSWI
Lisa Heuer is an Advanced Clinical Fellow in the iMH Lab. She completed her MSW at the University of South Florida. Her research/clinical interests are trauma, anxiety, and phobias. In her free time, she enjoys reading, meditation, and yoga.
