Study Coordinator

Ivan Avellaneda holds a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida. He began his career as a clinical research coordinator, working on cardiology clinical trials for a year before transitioning to USF’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center. In both roles, Ivan has gained extensive experience in data entry, coordinating patient and sponsor visits, and supporting the operational flow of clinical research studies. His favorite aspect of the work continues to be the meaningful interactions he has with patients and their families. With his shift from cardiology to neurology, Ivan aims to gain an understanding of Parkinson’s disease and related Parkinsonism. He hopes to contribute to research efforts that lead to meaningful improvements in patient care and bring the field closer to slowing disease progression for those affected.
