Daria Konovalova
Hi everyone, my name is Daria Konovalova and I have been part of the Ma lab since 2022! Before joining this lab, I worked on the synthesis of hybrid semiconductor materials in an inorganic chemistry laboratory. In the Ma lab, I investigate how aging influences immune responses and cardiac repair following myocardial infarction using murine models, flow cytometry, histology, and other experimental techniques. This work recently resulted in my first-author publication that can be seen under the 'Publications' tab! I have also contributed to several other ongoing research projects in the lab, along with maintaining a safe and organized research environment through my role as Lab Safety manager.
Although originally born in Philadelphia, I grew up in Ukraine before returning to the United States where I earned my B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2022. I plan to pursue a career in medicine, where I hope to combine patient care with research to advance the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Outside of the lab, I enjoy staying active, spending time with family and friends, and continuously learning new things.
