Hey everyone, this is Shuli. My long-term career goal is to become an independent investigator in cardiovascular immunology, with a focus on how age-related changes in thymic function and adaptive immunity regulate cardiac repair and heart failure after myocardial infarction (MI). My doctoral research examined how physiological stress disrupts homeostasis through neuroendocrine signaling. I subsequently transitioned to cardiovascular physiology and immunology, where I investigated how aging-related inflammation contributes to cardiovascular dysfunction. Together, these studies established the scientific foundation for my current investigation of thymic regulation of T-cell homeostasis during cardiac repair.
