Katelyn Carlsen is an honors Undergraduate Student majoring in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida. Her primary work focuses on integrating and applying computer science with neurology, with a particular emphasis on diagnosing mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) using deep learning models. In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Carlsen has conducted independent research on the neurocognitive and sociological implications of social media algorithms, and she currently explores the effects of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) on intellectual culture through sentiment analysis on social media platforms. She is dedicated to bridging the gap between AI and healthcare whilst maintaining a human-centered approach to medicine.
