I am a third-year pre-medical student and psychology major at the University of South Florida. I am a Tampa local and hope to stay in the area for many more years and build and advance my career here. I have no prior research experience and have just begun shadowing with an epileptologist who specializes in vagal nerve stimulation (VNS). My goal is to attend medical school for psychiatry and one day open a practice where I can provide both medication and talk therapy. I am interested in research on a variety of psychological and neurological conditions, particularly trauma-induced disorders and conditions in which paranoia is a prominent symptom. My interests also include understanding the underlying biological and structural mechanisms of these conditions, the general functioning of paranoia, and how medications can help alleviate associated symptoms.
