Shriya Punati, BSc

Shriya Punati is currently a medical student at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. She attended the University of South Florida, where she studied Biomedical Sciences. Her research interests focus on the social dimensions of health, with attention to how illness is experienced within care settings at both individual and systems levels. Shriya plans to pursue a specialization in psychiatry and is interested in the connection between anthropology and medicine in understanding mental health, particularly where clinical interventions and lived experience intersect. Her work is driven by a commitment to providing equitable, empathetic care for underserved communities.
