Briana Baboolall
I recently completed my bachelor's degree at the University of South Florida, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology. My project is to explore how diabetes affects smooth muscle cells of collecting lymphatic vessels. I was previously an American Heart Association Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow in Dr. Breslin's laboratory, and prior to that I worked under the guidance of Dr. Mack Wu on the molecular pathophysiology of barrier tissues. I also previously was President of Marketing for GenConnect, a student organization dedicated to teaching seniors about technology at retirement homes. These diverse experiences, along with my deep passion for art, sculpting, and the human body, inspire me to pursue an MD with a specialization in trauma plastic surgery. By combining the precision and creativity of art with the science of medicine, I aim to improve surgical techniques through innovative and artistic approaches.
