Claudia Cedeno
Claudia Cedeño graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Florida State University in 2021, where she began her scientific career in Dr. Fadool’s laboratory. There, she contributed to research on the effects of cannabidiol on anxiety and obsessive-compulsive-like behaviors. Following her graduation, Claudia honed her research skills as a research assistant at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. There, she collaborated closely with a PhD candidate in the Kelly Lab and worked in conjunction with the Lipton lab to develop a model of Alzheimer’s disease using human iPSC-derived cerebral organoids. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Molecular Medicine at the University of South Florida under the mentorship of Dr. Da-Zhi Wang. Her doctoral research focuses on investigating the role of a novel long non-coding RNA in cardiac development and function.
