Edilamar Menezes De Oliveira
Dr. Edilamar Menezes de Oliveira is graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the Santa Maria Federal University in the Brazil. She did the Master degree in Biological Sciences in area the Biochemistry at the Rio Grande do Sul at the Federal University (UFRGS) in the Brazil. After she moved to Sao Paulo and did PhD at UFRGS and Molecular Biology at the Heart Institute at the University of Sao Paulo at the Medical School of Sao Paulo University in the Brazil.
She later became Professor of Biochemistry Applied to the Exercise at the School of Physical Education and Sport at the University of Sao Paulo. She researches in Effects of Exercise Training on Cardiovascular System with focus on Non-coding RNAs. She is Associated Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Applied to the Exercise.
She was a postdoctoral fellow with financial support from National Research Council (CNPq) from Brazil and NIH funded project “Stem cell and cardiovascular disease” in the Dr Ian Phillips Laboratory at the Keck Graduate Institute at the Claremont University in the USA.
She is a Collaborative Associate Professor at Health Heart Institute, Department of Internal Medicine, Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida, USA. For her research she received grants from FAPESP in Sao Paulo and Ministry of Science and Technology/CNPq in Brazil, and from Pro-rectory of Research and Innovation at the University of Sao Paulo. She has published more than 20 books’ capitols and 142 publications in reputed international journals and 28 in national Brazilian Journals. She has oriented 10 PhD students, 16 master degrees and trained more than 20 students in scientific initiation and specialization curses. Also, she supervised 6 Pos-doc researchers. Now, she is orientating 2 PhD and 3 Pos-doc.
