Gabriela Diniz
Dr. Gabriela Placoná Diniz graduated in Biomedical Sciences in Brazil. She earned her PhD in Morphofunctional Sciences at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. Later, she became Assistant Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo. She researches the effects of high-fat diet in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, with focus on microRNAs. She was a postdoctoral fellow with financial support from Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) from Brazil in the laboratory of Dr. Da-Zhi Wang at the Boston Children’s Hospital at the Harvard Medical School in USA (2015-2016). For her research, she received four grants from FAPESP in Brazil. She has published 35 publications in reputed international journals. She has oriented master’s degrees, undergraduate students, and has supervised Post-doc researchers. Currently, she is supervising 2 PhD students in Brazil and is Instructor in the laboratory of Dr. Da-Zhi Wang at Heart Institute at the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida.
