My name is Katia Andrade, and I am from Brazil. I am a post-doc in Dr. Zhigao Wang’s lab at the USF Heart institute (2023 - present). I have a Ph.D. in Systems Biology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of São Paulo (ICB-USP, 2020 - Brazil), with a Sandwich Ph.D. at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital (2018-2019, USA). I hold a Master of Science in Morphofunctional Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP, 2014 - Brazil), and I am a specialist in Exercise Physiology: Exercise Prescription from the Gama Filho University (UGF, 2009 - Brazil). I also have a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the Adventist University Center of São Paulo (UNASP, 2007 - Brazil). I am experienced in cellular bioenergetics processes with a focus on molecular alterations and pharmacological therapy, skeletal muscle, satellite cells, exercise physiology, ALDH2, and heart failure. My current project in Dr. Zhigao Wang’s lab aims to understand the role of Rab27a in necroptosis pathway.
