Dr. Zhigao Wang
Dr. Z Wang received his B.S. degree from Wuhan University in China in 1994 and his Ph.D. degree in 2004 from Dr. Eric Olson's lab at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He then joined Dr. Xiaodong Wang's lab for his postdoctoral training. In 2012, he became an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Biology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. In 2021, he joined the University of South Florida as an associate professor and is currently a faculty member of the Center for Regenerative Medicine in the Heart Institute of the Morsani College of Medicine.
Dr. Z Wang's research program focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of cell death and developing small-molecule inhibitors to treat diseases associated with dysregulated cell death, including systemic inflammatory response syndrome, infections, and heart failure.
