Yao Wei Lu
Yao Wei Lu received his Ph.D. from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at Albany Medical College in John Schwarz's laboratory, where he studied the role of transcription factor MEF2 in the vasculature. He worked with Da-Zhi Wang to investigate the multifaceted roles of RNA-binding proteins and non-coding RNA in cardiac development and physiology at Boston Children’s Hospital before Da-Zhi’s relocation to USF. He also worked with Hong Chen at Boston Children’s Hospital to investigate vascular development and functions governed by these RNA-binding proteins.
Currently, Yao Wei is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. He is also a faculty member of the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) and a Principal Investigator at the Hastings Center for Pulmonary Research at KSOM. His laboratory continues to study cardiovascular diseases and closely collaborates with Da-Zhi’s laboratory.
