I was born and raised in the Orlando area. I pursued a degree in psychology while on the premed track at the University of Florida. During my time there I worked in a research lab that studied the adverse effects of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, specifically the increased prevalence of calcium oxalate kidney stone production post-op. It was there my eyes were opened to the world of research and long-lasting impact a good study can have on the advancement of healthcare. I went on to attend the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and developed a passion for cardiology. I will begin internal medicine residency at HCA Florida Largo Medical Center in the summer with the goal of one day becoming a cardiologist. I hope to continue in the lab under the instruction of Dr. Dazhi Wang and Dr. John Mably to learn much more about the heart from a molecular perspective.
