Professor Yiqin Du, MD, PhD
Dr. Du is a tenured professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida. She earned her M.D. from Xuzhou Medical University and her Ph.D. from the Peking University Health Science Center. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Peking University Stem Cell Center and subsequently served as a research associate and faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh before joining USF.
An experienced stem cell biologist and surgeon, Dr. Du has extensive expertise in stem cells, animal models, and surgical approaches for eye diseases. Her research interests span stem cell biology, ocular regeneration, and the development of innovative and effective therapies for eye disorders. Her work centers on advancing ocular regeneration using stem cells and stem cell–derived exosomes or secretomes as cell-free therapeutic strategies.
