Principal Investigator
Chris received her PhD from the University of Pittsburgh under the mentorship of Dr. Michael B. Butterworth, then continued her postdoctoral training with Dr. Alexander Staruschenko at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following this she worked as a research associate at the University of South Florida before her promotion to a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Chris's main research interest is understanding how the function or dysfunction of channels and transporters affect cellular function and how this translates into our physiology at a systemic level. When she has free time, you can find her on a paddle board with her dog, Nova, or on a hiking trail foraging for mushrooms.
