The PRIMO-TBI lab includes scientists with extensive research expertise in traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress, sleep disorders, and treatment including rehabilitation. To improve the delay in translation from bench to bedside, they have developed innovative approaches to improve access to high-quality evidence-based care using approaches from the field of implementation science. This work is part of national partnerships across multi-center longitudinal studies of traumatic brain injury funded by VA, DOD, and NIDILRR.
Traumatic Brain Injury and Polytrauma Comorbid Conditions
Our scientists are advancing the field of military TBI with expertise in all levels of TBI severity (Mild to Catastrophic/Disorder of Consciousness), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder coupled with Anger and Aggression, Chronic Pain, and the role of disrupted sleep in management of these conditions.
