About

Cardiovascular Translation & Drug Discovery Researcch

Mission

The goal of our lab's research is to understand the mechanisms governing cardiac lineage commitment and the pathogenesis of cardiomyopathy and heart failure. This understanding forms the basis for developing therapeutic strategies for heart disease. We actively collaborate with scientists in the field, with the long-term aim of improving human health. Our objective is to build a mechanism-driven drug discovery pipeline to develop novel therapeutics for treating cardiovascular disease.

Our Team

Our team brings diverse backgrounds and is driven by enthusiasm, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit. We are dedicated to unraveling the complexities and challenges in the field of cardiovascular research.

Our Research Approach

A combination approach of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and mouse models of cardiovascular diseases.

Human iPSC-Based Platform

  • Human monolayer cardiac cells.
  • Human microheart tissue.
  • Human cardiac organoids.
  • Human-engineered heart tissue.

Mouse Models of Cardiovascular Disease

  • Genetics and surgical models of cardiovascular disease.
  • Rodent ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
