I am a graduate student pursuing a PhD in medical sciences at the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM)). I earned my B.S. in biomedical engineering from USF in 2023 where I specialized in tissue engineering and wound healing. Now, I apply these tissue engineering techniques to the regeneration of the heart in Dr. Song’s lab. Our research aims to create 3D cardiac tissues from patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to regenerate a damaged heart and understand congenital heart disease. Key points of our research include understanding the cell types, structures, and development of the in vivo native heart and recreating these in our in vitro constructed tissues. In my free time, I love playing music and going to local shows, training and coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as well as exploring the ecosystems and biodiversity of Tampa Bay.
