PhD, Gaetan Lepreux
I received my MSc in Neurosciences from Université Grenoble Alpes (France) in 2013 and my PhD in Biology from Bielefeld University (Germany) in 2020 before joining the University of South Florida. My research focuses on how chronic alcohol exposure reshapes brain circuits involved in the regulation of motivation and emotion using behavioral, molecular, and neuroanatomical approaches. Beyond research, I’m passionate about mentoring students, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and strong scientific thinking through hands-on learning. I also enjoy problem-solving at every level, whether it’s debugging code, repairing lab equipment, or refining an experimental design. For me, science is as much about creativity and persistence as it is about discovery.
