Dr. Ayyala is an internationally renowned board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in anterior segment pathology and glaucoma, that has dedicated over 30 years to technological and scientific advancements in ophthalmology. He completed his medical degree at Gandhi Medical College and his ophthalmology training at Royal Liverpool University Hospital in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Dr. Ayyala pursued further training in the United States, completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, Glaucoma fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Cornea fellowship at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Ayyala is currently Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at USF Morsani, holding the prestigious honor of James P. and Heather Gills Chair.

Dr. Ayyala has developed many innovations in ophthalmology, including a slow-release drug delivery system and continuous intraocular pressure measuring device. He holds a multitude of patents and has published extensively throughout his career. With a goal of preventing vision loss, Dr. Ayyala not only remains committed to his patients, but also hopes to prevent blindness across the world.
