Highlighting BME Student Research

May 7, 2026

Our Biomedical Engineering students, Addison Whitehead, Bridget Clift, and Cristina Ramirez, recently showcased their research at the Florida Medical and Medical Computing (FMMC) conference, presenting their project, "Design & Development of Flexible Dry EEG Electrode; Neutrode."

This innovative research focuses on the development of a flexible, dry electroencephalography (EEG) electrode designed to improve user comfort, simplify setup, and support more accessible brain monitoring technologies. By addressing challenges associated with traditional wet electrodes, the Neutrode has the potential to enhance applications in neurological monitoring, brain-computer interfaces, and wearable health technologies.

Presenting at FMMC provided our students with the opportunity to share their work with researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals while gaining valuable experience communicating their findings to the broader scientific community.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication, innovation, and commitment to advancing biomedical engineering research. Congratulations on representing the program so well and contributing to the future of neurotechnology!

Way to go, BME students! 🎉
