Mars joined Dr. Yao's lab in 2023 to embark upon her PhD projects on first: investigating the role of adenylyl cyclase 2 (Adcy2) in hemorrhagic stroke, and second: exploring cell-specific laminin expression in Alzheimer’s disease progression. She holds a BA in Biochemistry and is deeply enthusiastic about the biochemical changes in the CNS following brain injuries. She has received an NIH training grant (T32HL160529) for her PhD studies and gained teaching and mentoring experiences along her scientific path.
