Katherine is a PhD student in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Neuroscience at the University of South Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry from the University of Louisiana Monroe and a Master of Science in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Aging and Neuroscience from USF's Morsani College of Medicine.

Her research focuses on EEG, with current projects including the USF Health HBOT clinical trial, Opioid Use Disorder, and Microbiome studies. She also works with biomechanics data and processes 3D Motion Capture. Katherine's passion for neuroscience stems from a personal connection—having grown up with her maternal grandmother, who had early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Over the course of 13 years, she witnessed the progression of the disease, which ultimately shaped her research interests.

Outside of research, she loves visiting Walt Disney World, especially EPCOT for its many festivals. She also participates in runDisney races, which take her through Disney property with fun character photo opportunities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
